Remind Me

Remind me
When this world’s going wrong
That you’re the only one
You’re the only one who is right

Remind me
When there’s only me
Sitting at an empty bar
There’s more to life than this
There’s more to life pour moi

Remind my wandering eye
That you’re the only vision
Who can correct my sight

This world’s going wrong
I’m not strong enough to face it
I’m not strong enough to embrace it all

Remind me
When I’m on my own
If that’s the only way I know
Then question me
Is this the way
Is this the way I want to be

Remind me
When all bids are closed
I can’t see faces hidden
With fair warning
There are other times
And other goods
For which I’d bidden

Remind me
That this life is going
Going once and going twice
Agree with me how everything
Shifts for its highest price

Recall obsessions I’ve forgot
And rare dark treasures lost
How I cannot see the light
How the glass is spilling

Remind me
As tables are closed
And chairs folded-in
Remind me as the sky opens
That rainfall’s beckoning

Remind me
Now I lose my clothes
And surrender to the night
This is all in my mind

In my mind
Things I think
Things I think I am
Things I think that I can do
The glass is halfway full

Or half empty
Of all that could’ve been

But you were the one
Who thought I could
In one sweet moment
I thought I should

Who was I?
Who could I be?

Please
Don’t forget
To remind me.
